Meeting for the first time at this past week's G-20 summit in London, Presidents Obama and Hu Jintao agreed to schedule a visit this year in Beijing, according to the Wall Street Journel. Already in the works is a conference in Washington this summer between top Chinese and American ministers, reportedly to be led by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner. Both sides have repeatedly affirmed their views that close Sino-American cooperation is vital to overcoming the current world financial crisis and "will help to set the stage for how the world deals with a whole host of challenges in the years to come," in the words of President Obama.
