Beijing spring in full swing

April 13, 2009 | Posted by Chris

Spring, the pleasant interim between Beijing's chilly winter and notoriously hot summer has brought to life the flowers and vegetation that are a welcome balance to the noise and pollution of this large city. According to the Weather Channel, daily temperature highs have frequently been in the 80s the past couple weeks, and they are forecast to linger in the 70s for the rest of the month. Beginning next month and continuing into September, average highs are expected to range from the low to high 80s, according to average temperature data. Like anywhere else, residents are more than happy to store away their winter clothes and enjoy their favorite outdoor summer activities, which is known as "stepping onto the grass" or 踏青 tà qīng.
